Frequently asked
Can’t find your answer? Book a free consultation and we’ll walk it through together.
Booking
How far in advance should I book?
For weddings and larger cultural celebrations we ask for four to six months. For birthdays and corporate events, four to six weeks is usually plenty. If you're closer than that, still reach out — we hold two urgent slots per month for late-notice consultations.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. We take a 30% deposit to hold your date. The remainder is due seven days before the event.
What's included in the consultation?
A 45-minute conversation about your vision, a sketched direction with palette and flavor notes, and a written proposal within 48 hours. Consultations are free for the first meeting.
Tastings & flavors
Do you offer tastings?
Yes — three flavor directions and two frosting profiles, plated in the studio or delivered as a tasting box within the Ottawa-Gatineau region. Included with wedding and cultural-celebration bookings, $85 otherwise.
Can you accommodate dietary needs?
Gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, and refined-sugar-free are all possible with notice. Every celebration is different — tell us about your guests during the consultation and we'll route around it.
Do you make traditional West-African cakes?
Regularly. We work with grandmothers, aunties, and family archives to build cakes rooted in Ivorian, Ghanaian, Senegalese, Nigerian, and Cameroonian traditions. If your family has a recipe, we'll learn it.
Delivery & venues
Do you deliver outside Ottawa and Gatineau?
By exception, and with a travel fee based on distance and cake structure. Weddings up to two hours away are on the table; contact us early with the venue address.
How do you handle multi-tier assembly on site?
Our delivery captain assembles on your cake table, adjusts to lighting and floral cues in the room, and photographs the final piece before handing it to your event lead. That final walk-through takes 15–20 minutes.
